Facility Management

Facility Management

One of the challenges in constructing sustainable built environments is to ensure that the facility lives up to its purpose and better enables the business within the facility to achieve its desired goals.

TMG helps leverage your core business objectives by ensuring optimum functionality of the built environment through the integration and alignment of people, place, processes and technology. Our focus involves both strategic facility planning and facility operations management.

Strategic Facility Management

Strategic facility planning involves converting the organization’s strategic business plan into medium- or long-term facility plans and alternatives. In addition to the space planning skills of traditional architecture, we also apply financial, business and property management skills.

As decisions made in business planning may directly impact the organisation’s property and facility needs, we strive to develop a flexible plan based on the unique needs of the particular organisation. This involves 4 distinct steps:

  • Understanding
We strive to thoroughly understand the organization’s vision and strategic goals in terms of financial performance, customer engagement, internal business processes and people development.
  • Analysing
TMG utilises various analytical techniques to understand the organisation’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; generating possible future scenarios that may impact the organisation’s facility’s needs.
  • Planning
We develop plans that are aligned to the organisation’s strategic business objectives and related long-term facility needs.
  • Acting
TMG acts to implement the strategic facilities plan with sufficient flexibility to take into account deviations arising out of short- and medium-term planning processes.

Facility Operations Management

Facility operations and maintenance aims to ensure that the built environment is ideally suited to the purpose for which it was constructed. It would typically also address the routine functioning of the building’s systems and equipment that enable it to deliver on its intended purpose.

  • Operations quality procedure
Quality procedure is a performance objective by which TMG evaluates a facility’s operations. There are 5 performance focus areas: quality, speed, dependability, flexibility and cost.
  • Maintenance program
Our maintenance program is designed to optimise performance of both facility and related equipment during the design life / projected life-cycle, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Operations engineering
TMG’s focus is to ensure that your facility operates optimally through monitoring and maintaining the related heat, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as emergency power supplies through back-up generators.
